Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker

5 Mar

Alex’s parents died when he was little, leaving him with his Uncle, Ian Rider. When Ian Rider dies in a car crash, the police claim he didn’t have a seat belt on, but Alex knows this is not true.

The bullets in his uncles car only prove his suspicion of his murder. He never expected that the truth was that his uncle was a spy for Britain’s top secret agency, MI6. He was killed on his final mission. Now Alex is expected to finish the off his Uncles last mission and find his killers. He has to go undercover in a computer company owned by a man that seems to be hiding something. Alex needs to find this out, with only a week of training, some cool gadgets, like a game boy that can detect a bug in the room or zit cream that can destroy six inches of medal. How will Alex make it in this mess of secrets?

Will he live?

This was a good read. I would have read it quickly but I lacked time. I thought it was pretty good, fast moving and action packed, always something happening.

If you like real life situations, then this may not be your kind of book. I am excited to read more of the series, sorry I didn’t have many more comments, but it was a great book.

QUOTE: “When the doorbell rings at three in the morning it’s never good news. Alex Rider was woken by the first chime. His eyes flickered open, but for a moment he stayed completely still in his bed, lying on his back with his head resting on the pillow. He heard a bedroom door open and a creak of wood as somebody went downstairs. The bell rang a second time, and he looked at the alarm clock glowing beside him. There was a rattle as someone slid the security chain off the front door.”
